Very frustrating evening. [mark]

Other than that, I am on call this week, as mentioned. But the remote office that normally handles the pager overnight is at an off-site, so I get to carry the pager tonight and tomorrow night. It should be fine (pager volume is pretty damn light!), but if I am grumpy tomorrow you know why!

In other news: omg, I will soon be a husband. WTF. I do not have any words to describe how much I am WTF OMG WTF OMG about this whole thing. Really. It's blowing my mind. I don't even know what to think right now. Oh yeah, and I owe Janine a lot of things by this weekend... oops... sorry honey, brain got eaten by PayPal. :(

you know something's corny when a situation merits it's own tag. pay pal entries get sorted under "passierschein a38" in my journal now. which is a reference to an animated mnovie based on the french asterix comics.

as a test the heroes have to get in and out of the house that makes peole insane. it's bureaucracy gone mad. they need permit/pass a38 in order to get out again. they keep asking for it and are being told all sorts of forms have to be applied for and filled out and granted before they cen get their a38... the house that drives people mad.

in the end they beat the system by asking for a brand new permit which they just made up. upon rebuttal such a form would not exsist, they keep inventing obscure letters and ministry orders which clearly state that a38 is to be replacexd immediately by xxx(i forgot that number). this causes extreme havoc amongst the bureaucrats, because everybody is accusing everybody else of withholding ministry orders.

just when the chaos is perfect the heroes causlly request the original permit a38 again... and receive it.

there really is no alternative to pay pal, is there?

i hope you dream of wedding things rather than of pay pal things tonight.

That scene in English. I must say though that the voice acting was better in the Icelandic version, and that was all done by a single person.

yes, that's the one! cheers! and yes, rather poor voice acting. asterix is supposed to be a lot more energetic.

i always thought translations were very rarely done in iceland, it being such a small audience (and market).

Not when it comes to animated things for kids, such films are usually available both in Icelandic and English/other original language, if it's something that is only shown on the telly, then it's just in Icelandic. But we don't dub anything else, just subtitle it.
